In addition to planning and liaison with artists, agents and school, a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the concerts. If you would be willing to help with any of the following or would like more details, please speak to one of the officers or use the ‘Contact Us’ page.
1. Furniture Moving
a) Before the Concert. The Concert Hall is the School Lecture Theatre, also used as a Drama Studio. Furniture and staging therefore need to be removed and safety hand rails put in place on the stairs. Starting at 3.30 pm on the afternoon of the concert, this usually takes about 30 minutes.
b) After the Concert. Furniture and staging must be replaced before we vacate the premises.
2. Catering
a) For the Artists. Provide a cold meal about 6pm.
b) At the Interval. Help with serving tea and coffee in the dining hall and take refreshments through if any patrons are unable to leave the concert hall.
3. Hosting Artists
Offering overnight accommodation is one way in which we keep expenses down.
4. Transport
Artists sometimes need to be picked up from either Preston or Clitheroe stations on the afternoon of the concert and returned the next morning.
